LEGACY’22

Subject: Legacy’22

Dear World

It’s 26 December 2022 when I am writing this on the train to attend a conference at IIT Kanpur. On 3rd January 2022, I put my footprints in IPU, and let’s just say it changed my life. I never chose to do engineering, rather engineering chose me and it made me fall in love with both engineering and this college. Met a lot of souls here, some as passionate about life as me, some not. From representing IPU and winning Gold to becoming president of the Srijan Science Club to writing my review papers to finding what I want to do in life, It has been quite a ride.

Starting with the beginning, when I was in my first year, kinda not knowing what to do, just like every other fresher, was clueless. Communicated with a lot of seniors (some helpful, some not), and a lot of professors(Mostly helpful). In the start, it felt like a hierarchal system with everyone being power-driven and everyone wanting positions without doing the same amount of work. Due to this, people who wanted to work for the betterment of the university and also for their passion were always demeaned. As a person just starting with such an atmosphere, it was pretty weird in the start, to be honest, but I must say I adapted to that environment, a bit rebellious (of course) but yeah, I wanted a change, and safe to say it is slowly but gradually coming since the college have shifted offline.

I never worked in a lot of organisations, but yeah wherever I worked I gave my best, being a bit rebellious about the work culture made by students in the college always come with its disadvantages as a lot of false impressions are framed in front of seniors and faculties who run these organisations. But giving my best, sometimes being the only one working in the organisations changed their perspective about me and the truth came out. So, if you think some things are going bad, you should remain patient and the truth will prevail sooner or later. A lot of opinions will always be framed about you even when you have not communicated with them, and that just explains the shallowness in those opinions, So those should not be in your mind as they distract you both academically and in organisations (internships and college societies).

Well, I hope 2023 gives me as many lessons and experiences if not more than what I had in 2022.

Thanks and regards
